The formidable talents of Frankfurt’s finest Drum and Bass beatsmiths Franksen and Mad Vibes join forces on the already remarkable original of “Italfood” by Razoof and Binti.Afrika. The product is an undeniably anthem which glues together Reggae and Drum and Bass on a ruff Jungle ride fueled with pride and determination on the vocals: “It’s a rude gal thing”!

Drawing influence from their love of the old-school, Franksen and Mad Vibes provide classic helicopter- and amen-breakbeats choppage wrapped in rave fanfares, hypnotic Reggae guitar-licks and sound system noises. Whilst the drum work takes you on a journey, Binti.Afrika’s mind-bending vocals pave the way for fighting the stereotype that women only want to hear sweet tunes. Her vocal-samples - saying “this a rude gal thing, you better come real” – melt together with the rinsing remix vibe appealing to all strong and often oppressed women.

Razoof is one of the driving artists behind Global Dub. Based in Cologne, Kampala and Formentera, his career as drummer, producer and DJ is influenced by Reggae, Dancehall, Dub, House and Downbeat. Razoof’s records are played by turntable icons like Richard Dorfmeister and Rainer Trüby. In addition he runs his own label Nesta successfully since 2000. Razoof a.k.a. Uwe Lehr worked together with Luciano, Klaus Schulze, Gentleman, Mykal Rose, Lutan Fyah and many more.

Binti.Afrika is the queen of Swahili Dub with heavy Reggae basslines and vibes hailing from Nairobi, Kenya. Her name is a Kiswahili term meaning “Daughter of Africa”. As a social activist, Binti uses her lyrical prowess and soulful voice to uplift female youth.

Mad Vibes is a veteran of German Drum and Bass. The DJ, producer and mastering engineer runs his own label Sidechain Music with releases by Nymfo, Camo, Digital and others. The production credo of Mad Vibes a.k.a. Tony Calhoun is to keep it simple and close to a dark and dubby sound culture, keep it drum and bass.

Franksen a.k.a. Frank Eckert is a German Breakbeat legend in his own rights known for his seminal show on German FM radio, as a versatile DJ, producer for 14 years and author as well. He is considered one of the leading representatives of German Liquid and Jungle.

With so many big names on the producer side, the bar has been set high – and this single doesn’t disappoint! Anthemic and rising, this tune is guaranteed to set the precedent for the sounds of tomorrow.
